GURU PADMA SAMBHAVA SADHANA

Homage to the Guru. This is a Sadhana containing visuslisation for prayers to Guru Padma Sambhava.

First say the Refuge prayers.

 

 

Namo Lama Desheg Duepi Ku.
Kon Chong sum gyi rang shin la.
Dag-dang dro drug sem ehen nam.
Chang chub bar du kyab su chi.

(Oh Guru! You are the embodlement of all Enlightened ones.
You! Very beings is the three Refuges.
I, along with the beings of six realms
Go in refuge to You, until we attain Buddhahood.)
 

 
     
 

ENGENDERING OF BODHICHITTA


Sem-Kyi dro wa Kun-don-du
Lama Sangye Drab-ne-ni
Gang-la gang-dul Thinlay Kyi
Drowa Dralwar dam-cha wo

(I aspire for the benefit of all beings,
To attain the stage of the Guru, the enlightened One.
Acting according to the needs of each individual,
I promise to Liberate all the beings.)
 

 
     
 

SEVEN BRANCH PRAYER


Lama Yidam Khadro-Sheg
Nyi-da-pemei-denla-shug.
Lu-ngag-yid sum-guchang-tsal
Chi-nang sangwi chodpa bul
Nyam chag di-drip thol shing shag
Sang-ngag drupla Je yi-rang
Min-drol sang-ngag cho-khor-kor
Nya-nagem mi-da shug-sol dep
Nying-po Semchen dondu ngo
Yang-da Dorjee dontok shok.

(Guru, Yidams & Khadromas please come.
Be seated on sun, moon and lotus.
With body, speech and mind, we prostrate to you.
Outer, inner and secret offerings are presented.
All our broken samayeas, unwholesome deeds & obstacles are confessed before you and purified.
We rejoice in those who have attained realization through Mantrayana.
We pray that you may grant us the ripening & liberating teachings of Mantrayana.
May you never depart, please remain with us.
I dedicate the fruits from any good deeds that I have for the benefit of all beings.
May they all realize the actual Vajra State.)
 

 
     
 

THE ACTUAL GURU VISUALISATION


Dun-gyi namkhar wo-ngi long
Seng-tri Pema nyide teng
Kusum Gyalwa du-pe ngos
Tsawi Lama Pema jung
Karmar dangden shi-tro nyam
Pesha sang-pho chogo dang
Za-wo marmug jid par sol
Cha-ye dorje tse-nga dang
Yonpi benda Tse-bum nam
Drumo yon-na khatram chang
Dorjee Kyiltrung dang ehe-te
Ku-sung-thug-kyi-kyil khor-le
Tsa-sum eho-sung rab-jam kun
Tro due zi jin lam me wa
Ngon sum sherda shupa gyur.

(In a swirl of five coloured lights in the space ahead.
On a lion throne adorned with lotus, sun and moon.
Sits the embodiment of three kayas of all Buddhas,
My root Guru in the form of Padma Sambhava.
With a fair and youthful glow, his serene expression tinged with wrath.
Wearing Padma Crown, Bakhu & Dharma robes (Chosgae).
Gracefully wraped in a gown of brown brocade.
In his right hand he holds a five pronged Vajra.
And a skull cup with a life giving vase in his left hand.
The fold of his left arm supports a trident.
He sits in full Vajra posture.
From the mandalas of his body, speech & mind.
Countless Gurus, Yidams, Khadromas and Dharmapals,
Continuously emanate forth and return with glorious grace He appears vividly.)

 

 
     
 

With this you can recite any one of the Guru Padma Sambhava (prayers Leu Dunma Prayer in 7 chapters) Sampa Lhundupma (Spontaneously wish fulfill prayer) Barche Lam Sel (Clearing the obstacles of the path) and Tsigdun Soldep (Seven Line Prayer) or just Lama Kusum & Sampa Lhundup. At the end recite as many Vajra Guru mantras as you can in order to activate the Gurus compassionate blessings. Lastly please repeat this.
 

 
 

Lami-nesum dru-sum le
Wozer rim dang chig-char tro
Dak-gi nesum thimpa yi
Wang-shi thopching Drib-shi dag
Lam-shi gompi nod-tu gyur
Tharni rangthim verme ngang
Loday eho-ku rang shel ta
 

 
 

The three letters (Om, Ah, Hung) at the three centres of the Lama (Forehead, throat & heart), Radiate lights (White, red & blue) consecutively, then simultaneously the rays enter my three centres (forehead, throat & heart) I receive the four empowerments and four defilements are purified. I obtain the right contions to practice the four paths. At the end the Guru dissolves in me and we become one. Behold Dharmakaya, which is beyond all concepts.

Gewa diyi nyur-du dag
Ogyen Lama Drapgyur ne
Drowa chig-kyang ma lupa
Deyi sala godper sho.

(May these virtuous deeds soon bring me to the state of the Guru of Ugyen (Oddiyana) and may all beings without exception attain the same realization.)
